Nadine Yura - Calligraphy of Color

One more painting starring those lovely and talented cherry tomatoes. 

 Yes, more tomatoes! Just wanted to share this quick study of light, shadows and a glass bowl. 

After finishing my previous painting, "Cirque de Tomates", a vision of it as an abstract popped into my head.  I placed a clean panel on my easel and had some fun just playing with color and lines, finishing the abstract in about an hour. I cleaned my brushes and palette , as I usually do at the end of a painting session, and left the panel on my easel to dry. Later the next day my husband related this story to me.... That morning, he walked into my studio expecting to see "Cirque de Tomates" on my easel but instead saw the abstract version . He said out loud "What happened to the tomatoes? Those are not tomatoes!".  I told him that those are tomatoes! We had a good laugh as I explained to  him my abstract "vision".  I told him that he just "named" my new painting! Please enjoy "Not Tomatoes".

Coming up with names for my paintings is sometimes a challenge. Not for this painting! The placement of  the tomatoes, one on top of the  glass vase and the two stacked in the bowl, reminded me of a balancing act in a circus. Hence the name  -"Cirque de Tomates" or  "Circus of Tomatoes".
